Case
Study : Talk2 Technology
Talk2 Technology makes it possible for people to interact with
all kinds of data, including e-mail and contact lists by voice
command.
The
Problem :
Talk2 was having difficulty communicating what their technology
could do, facing the challenge of showing technology value to
a varied audience in a clear and precise manner to stimulate sales.
In addition, the overall look and feel of their brand identity
did not stand out when grouped with other high-tech companies.
In fact, if the logo were removed from the marketing materials
of various companies, the identities became interchangeable. Talk2
further faced frustration with their agency, who seemed to be
fighting them on every decision.
The
Solution :
Talk2 changed focus. They began target selling their infrastructure
to the telecomm industry and not directly to consumers. At this
point, Meyer & Liechty, working in close collaboration with
Talk2, created a visual style that used distinctive, flat colors
and a unique style of illustration that looked nothing like any
other company in their arena. The illustrations were simple and
diagramatical, helping to make complex ideas clear and immediately
understandable. This design change helped make it clear that Talk2
was the only product that enabled telecomm companies to serve
many customers and make a profit.
