At WordPerfect, he became the Asian language specialist and the lead designer, responsible for the global promotion of certain WordPerfect products and services. In 1994, Liechty founded Meyer & Liechty with his wife, Hailey Meyer, who holds an MFA in studio art.
Liechty takes an active part in community affairs. Previous positions include service on the board of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Salt Lake City chapter (over 5 years), service as an advisory committee member for the Utah Valley State College Department of Marketing and International Business, and the chair of the Historic Preservation Commission for Lindon City, Utah, where he lives.
